What We Do
Our Impact
We design programs to help innovations turn into local, resilient and sustainable economies. Our scope ranges from ideation to commercial innovations. Our growth plan follows 3 phases: proof of concept, growth, and scaling.
Uniting global actors for local impact
We focus on reducing footprint on three areas: blue economy, green economy and urban life.
We help public and private organizations reduce their emissions and waste, build local circular chains, develop the emergence of sustainable solutions, build local capacities…
Reduction of CO2e emissions, Tons of waste saved, increment of revenue generated from sustainable alternatives, number of future innovators trained, … the right impact measure can always be determined once the intentionality is proven.
Our Impact
To preserve our future, we believe in the urgency to: draw down on energy consumption, protect and restore nature, elevate happiness and build local circular economies.
Our intentionality and impact frameworks hence take inspiration from the Kaya equation, Carol Ryffe’s work on happiness, Norton & Kaplan’s balanced scorecard, decentralised models …
Concrete and simple impact indicators can be selected accordingly for each project: kg of waste saved, Nb of entrepreneurs trained, kWH saved, dollars saved, … but in the early stage, the most important is to ensure intentionality rather than willing to measure too much.
Our Scope
We breed Zebras, we don’t hunt for Unicorns: To tackle Climate Change, we need to provide more support to impactful innovations. It is a breeding game, not a hunting game.
The journey of an impactful innovation to reach the growth stage is long and complex. From training students to building local viable models for a proven solution, we focus our projects on early stage innovations from the green, the blue or the black economy.
We like small projects, under the radar, agile and proving concepts before scaling them.
Our Roadmap
We take our own medicine! We believe in growing on solid grounds, experimenting. We also know that for impact, there is no one single business model or recipe.
Therefore, Living Labs is meant to grow in 3 phases. We are mid phase 1, and accelerating.
Phase 1: Proof of Concept
We are the Builders to prove our concept, methodology and business models on 20 projects
Phase 2: Grow reputation and tools
Through fundraising we will launch more projects to continue building our reputation and make our platforms scale-ready.
Phase 3: Scaling
We are a platform for other Builders to launch similar projects. We aim to eventually become a globalised framework for partnerships and collaboration.
